Bryan Tramont graduated from South High in 1986. He graduated from George Washington University with a degree in political science and obtained his law degree from Yale Law School, where he served as editor of the Yale Law & Policy Review. He currently lives in Washington, D.C.

Bryan is the chief of staff for Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Powell. His job is to help Powell prioritize and keep on track all the agency's business. This includes directing the flow of policy initiatives, deciding which deserve the chairman's attention and helping manage an agency with over 2,000 employees, a $200 million budget and 11 field offices.

Before assuming this position, Bryan served as the chairman's senior legal advisor, advising him generally on FCC agenda and circulate issues, and specifically on wireless, international, technology and consumer issues. He served in the same position for former commissioners Kathleen Abernathy and Harold Furchtgott-Roth.

Bryan also currently serves on the executive committee of the Federal Communications Bar Association and has been awarded the organization's Distinguished Service Award. He is an adjunct professor of law at the Catholic University of America School of Law. He has given of his time to the Big Brother/Big Sister program and donates regular hours to a soup kitchen.

Prior to joining the FCC, Bryan was an attorney with the law firm of Wiley Rein and Fielding. There, he worked in telecommunications regulation and appellate litigation. Previous experience also includes serving as a clerk for the Honorable Duane Benton in the Missouri Supreme Court and working with Missouri Congressman Jack Buechner.

While at George Washington University, Bryan received the distinguished scholar award from the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and president of the G.W.U. College Republicans.
