Deanna Kuhlmann-Leavitt graduated from Central High in 1984. She received a bachelor of arts degree in graphics/packaging in 1989 from the Art Center College of Design. She currently lives in St. Louis, MO.

Deanna is president and design director of Kuhlmann-Leavitt, Inc., a certified woman-owned, multifaceted design firm with offices in St. Louis and Chicago. Her responsibilities include design and project management for a variety of multimedia based corporate communications as well as new business development.

Kuhlmann-Leavitt, Inc., specializes in the highest quality identity, orientation and information design for the built environment, print and digital media. Clients come from a wide range of industries and institutions nationwide, and include Citigroup, Eddie Bauer, Forest Park Forever, Neutrogena and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.

The office has won many major awards for the design of annual reports, corporate brochures, product literature, new media, environmental graphics and architectural signage. Kuhlmann-Leavitt was featured in the May/June 2004 issue of Communication Arts magazine.

Deanna's work has been recognized in many major publications on design and she consistently receives awards in national and international competitions. The Los Angeles Art Directors Club, the New York Art Directors Club, the Society of Environmental Graphic Design and the Type Directors Club are among the many organizations that have honored Deanna for her work. She has also served as a juror for graphic design competitions in the United States and Canada.

Deanna has been generous in sharing her expertise with students though a mentoring program at Washington University and in high schools. She helps these students explore design career options. She is also an advisor and former design show chair of the St. Louis chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.
