Jeff Altman

Jeff Altman is a 1979 graduate of Central High and a graduate of Western University. He currently lives in Anaheim, CA.
Upon graduating Jeff reached a high level of success in the restaurant business, but found the industry hours were not family-friendly. He then entered the mortgage business and has achieved great success there. He is a partner with Westcal Mortgage and is in the top 5% of mortgage brokers worldwide.
In addition to noting his professional accomplishments, Jeff's nomination for the Hall of Fame was highlighted by the hard work he still does for the Parkway School District and its students. In 1994 Jeff's best friend from high school, Kurt Schoor, died of heart disease. Jeff was devastated by the loss of his close friend, but two years later thought of a way to make Kurt's memory live on and to help others in the process.
He and the alumni association established the Kurt Schoor Memorial Fund in 1997 and since that time the fund has given out over $20,000 to deserving Parkway students. Jeff's dedication and hard work have made the fund a success. He personally writes the letters and solicits all donations for the fund, often from companies in California who know nothing of Parkway, but believe that because Jeff is involved it must be a great cause.
Jeff flies back to St. Louis every year to hand out the awards that honor his great friend and is an honorary member of the Parkway Alumni Association Board of Directors. The Kurt Schoor Memorial Fund has not only been a benefit to Parkway students, but also to Kurt's family, who has embraced the program.
Through the years, Kurt's parents have gone from being spectators at the ceremony to active participants. Kurt's father, Gerry, and his brother, Mark, have helped Jeff present the students with these wonderful awards. "Parkway graduates - we are proud of our past and confident of our future," is Jeff's quote about Parkway and the education our students receive. He lives this quote to the fullest, as evidenced by his business accomplishments and hard work for others.
