The Christopher Reid Memorial Fund has been established to honor the memory of Chris, who was a 1983 graduate of Parkway West. Chris was an accomplished student, president of the debate team for three years, baseball and basketball player. Although diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor following high school, Chris was determined to attend college, even though he had a prognosis of living only two years. He graduated from IU in 1988 with a BA in Economics and also received a master’s degree from St. Louis University. Chris’ determination was amazing.
Chris taught American accounting practices to Russians in both Moscow and St. Petersburg. Chris had a love of languages that began in middle school with Latin, and he became fluent in Russian, having studied it both in high school and college. Grants from Chris’ fund support learning foreign languages, debate and special needs.
